Arthritis Treatments

With millions of arthritis sufferers looking for arthritis treatments, pain relief for this condition has become a very big industry. Traditional medicine has many treatment options to offer from NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) to steroid injections.

You have probably come to this page because you are less than impressed with their effectiveness or are concerned about possible side effects.

Arthritis pain varies from occasional mild discomfort to acute pain where relief does not appear to be available from any source. Many people suffer through excruciating pain from different types of arthritis on a daily basis.

If you are one of these people I would very much like to hear your story. (see invitation just below)

Most people resort to numerous over the counter remedies as well as prescription medications.

I am sure these treatments are helpful but they usually come with side effects that can vary from something as inconsequential as a dry mouth to more serious effects like heart problems.

Don’t you just love those ads that sound so good until they start listing off the potential risks to your health, many of which are far more serious than the ailment you wish to treat?

I will talk some more (on this page) about how apple cider vinegar can help but first I would love to hear your opinion about natural remedies vs traditional treatment so ...

Have You Tried an Old Home Remedy that Worked Better than Drugs?

I have found that a home remedy (vinegar or otherwise) is often more effective and quicker acting than the traditional over the counter drug.

Has this been your experience?

Do you have a great story about this? Please share it and I will publish it here for everybody to read.

Thank you so much for your input. Ok let's continue ...

Fortunately there are many natural home remedies that work, but have virtually no side effects.

One of my favorite home remedies for arthritis pain is not surprisingly ...

Apple Cider Vinegar - Arthritis Treatments

ACV has been used on different types of arthritis for many years and has accumulated a large “following” of happily relieved arthritis sufferers.

It has been used both internally and externally to relieve the pain of arthritis and I suggest you try both.

You may be pleasantly surprised with your results.

  • Internal Application
Add 2 tablespoons (some recipes call for 2 teaspoons) of apple cider vinegar and honey for the taste, to a glass of water three times a day. ACV dissolves the crystal deposits of uric acid which form in your joints as well as in your muscles. (muscular rheumatism)
  • External Treatment
Soak your hand or foot in a strong, hot solution (1/4 cup ACV to 1 ½ cups of water) of ACV for ten minutes, two or three times a day. If the arthritis is in your knees, apply a poultice (a cloth soaked in the above mixture) to the joint then secure with a dry cloth to hold in the heat. When the cloth cools repeat the above steps several times. This process should be done twice daily.

Tips on Using Vinegar

For some anecdotal evidence about using vinegar in arthritis treatment visit Arthritis Research UK

Some people experience immediate relief but, just like many kinds of medication and arthritis treatments, apple cider vinegar may take 2 or 3 days to work its magic.

Don’t expect immediate relief but if you feel a difference tell us about it. (see invitation below)

Bonus

In addition to arthritis treatments, consuming apple cider vinegar has also been known to result in other health benefits:

  • improved memory
  • lower cholesterol levels
  • lower post-meal and fasting glucose levels
  • improved digestion
  • weight loss
  • ulcers etc.

As always, do not self diagnose! Please consult your physician, especially if you are currently taking medication for an illness or condition.

Apple Cider Vinegar makes a very good addition to your arthritis fighting arsenal but there are obviously other things you can do. Barbara D Allan has written a very good book on this topic.
