Gerd Diet

A good GERD diet will include foods that do not trigger your GERD symptoms.

Unfortunately different foods will affect different people in different ways so the trick is to identify which foods have an adverse affect on you.

You probably already know from personal experience many of the foods you need to avoid.

Foods to Include in a Gerd Diet

Some of the most common foods to avoid:

Non acid foods such as:

  • apples
  • bananas

drink lots of water

Most meats like:

  • fish
  • lean ground beef
  • chicken breast
  • London broil steak

Vegetables like:

  • carrots
  • baked potatoes
  • beans
  • broccoli
  • cabbage

Low fat cheeses such as:

  • feta
  • goat
  • creamed
  • soy based

Also grains are a good choice

Note: Apples are included in the list of non acidic foods. When we make apple cider vinegar we do not change the basic properties of apples which is still alkaline.

The nutrients contained in apples have an alkalizing effect on your body even though they are located in an acidic liquid.

To give you some perspective on this, think of your stomach's environment. Your stomach contains a very strong acid which is required to break down the food you eat.

When you eat alkaline foods they do not magically convert to acidic simply because they are now mixed with an acid. The same goes for apple cider vinegar.
